Detroit Tigers' Li Hao-yu of Major League Baseball (MLB) went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts on Tuesday, bringing an end to his personal 4-game hitting streak. The team also fell to the Houston Astros by a score of 4-2.
Starting as the number 8 batter and playing second base, Li flied out to the outfield in his first at-bat in the top of the 3rd inning, followed by consecutive strikeouts in the 5th and 8th innings. His batting average dropped to .232 after the game. So far this season, he has accumulated 22 hits, along with 27 strikeouts and 4 walks.
The Tigers' offense was limited in this matchup, managing only 3 hits as a team. Their only runs came from solo home runs by Kerry Carpenter in the 7th and Kevin McGonigle in the 9th.
