According to Central News Agency, the Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) was alerted early this morning that during maintenance work, an excavator overturned on the west mainline between Miaoli and Zhunan (at K129+700). As a result, the Miaoli-Zhunan section is currently operating on a single track (eastbound line only) with bi-directional service, leading to delays for multiple trains.
The incident occurred on the Nangangxi Railway Bridge in Zaoqiao Township, Miaoli County. The excavator tipped over onto the tracks, with its bucket falling beneath the bridge. TRA is currently dispatching heavy machinery and cranes to the site for recovery and repairs, which has caused ongoing train delays. (Editor: Chang Ya-ching) 1150618
