(Central News Agency reporter Chao Min-ya, Taipei, June 18) The National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Affairs' Small and Medium Enterprise Administration and the Industrial Technology Bureau, is participating in VivaTech 2026—the largest European startup and technology exhibition—for the eighth consecutive year. This year, the Taiwan Tech Arena (TTA) leads a national team of 34 Taiwanese tech startups and 61 supply chain partners to foster international collaboration and business opportunities.

Held in France, VivaTech 2026 marks its 10th anniversary. In a press release issued today, the NSTC highlighted that this year’s theme is "Shaping the Next Decade," with a new investor networking mechanism introduced to strengthen connections between startups and global investors. The TTA Taiwan Tech Pavilion is located on the 2nd floor—the hub for major international brands—adjacent to giants like Meta and Microsoft, underscoring the event’s recognition of Taiwan’s technological significance.

Aligned with the global trend in artificial intelligence (AI), the TTA Pavilion adopts "AI Taiwan" as its theme, showcasing diverse achievements in AI technologies and applications. The focus is on how AI is being integrated into daily life and industrial settings, promoting the deep convergence of smart applications with real-world scenarios. The exhibition recreates a European streetscape to deliver an immersive, lifestyle-oriented experience, demonstrating Taiwan’s vision of leveraging AI to innovate across industries and build intelligent living ecosystems, reinforcing its critical role in the global tech supply chain.

The opening ceremony of the TTA Taiwan Tech Pavilion was held on June 17 (Taiwan time), attended by official and think tank representatives from Taiwan and France, as well as high-profile guests from startup ecosystems in the Netherlands, Canada, the UK, and the US—reflecting broad international support and recognition for Taiwan’s innovation sector.

Lin Te-sheng, Director of the NSTC’s Industry-Academia Collaboration Division, stated that TTA has helped nearly 200 startups enter Europe and connect globally through VivaTech, securing nearly NT$1.3 billion in international orders. Last year’s collaborative model between startups and supply chain partners yielded over NT$800 million in results. This year, the successful model continues, with 34 startup teams supported by 61 supply chain partners.

Lin emphasized that unlike past exhibitions where startups focused on showcasing individual technologies, this year’s teams are required to collaborate with supply chain partners to present integrated solutions and real-world application scenarios. This enables international enterprises to directly grasp the holistic value, increasing the potential for partnerships. Furthermore, the maturity of this year’s participating teams has improved, with many already established in the European market. They are targeting new opportunities arising from France’s net-zero regulations, growing demand for AI certification, and the development of computing factories.

As global tech innovation increasingly emphasizes sustainability and social impact, VivaTech launched the Tech for Change Award, recognizing 400 impactful startups worldwide across three key areas: environment, society, and health. The award highlights innovations using technology to address global challenges.

The NSTC announced that seven Taiwanese startups received the certification this year. Among them, Precision Intelligence Biotech made the top 30 in the health category on its debut. Others include Apollo Power, Dikuo Smart Technology, Radar Optoelectronics, National Earthquake Research Center, Right Energy, and Zhubao Intelligent—demonstrating Taiwan’s strength and international influence in technological innovation.
