Google today announced new features in the June Pixel Drop, rolling out over the coming weeks. This update integrates Android 17 and the AI model Gemini, enabling screen recording with selfie, using Gemini to create custom music, the multitasking 'Bubbles' feature, and one-tap identification of complete fashion outfits via 'Circle to Search'.
In a post on its official blog, Google explained that Android 17 introduces a 'screen recording selfie' feature, allowing users to capture their expressions while recording the screen. During recording, users can smoothly control the screen and freely adjust the size and position of their face in the video with simple taps and drags.
With this update, Pixel phones can now use Gemini Omni to create and edit videos. By simply conversing naturally with Gemini, users can transform their ideas into video creations. They can even create a 'virtual avatar' that looks and sounds like themselves, allowing them to appear in their video content.
Additionally, the new 'Bubbles' multitasking feature lets users minimize any app into a floating window according to their needs. By long-pressing an app icon, it can be quickly turned into a bubble that floats over another app currently in use.
The 'Circle to Search' feature will also gain broader app support. With the new 'Search Similar Styles' feature, when users see a fashion look they like, they can instantly find matching pieces from tops to shoes with one tap, without leaving the app they're currently using.
