The leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) nations have issued a joint statement reaffirming their opposition to any unilateral attempt to change the status quo in the Taiwan Strait through force or coercion. The Presidential Office of Taiwan stated today that it appreciates the G7's concrete actions in once again supporting peace, stability, and prosperity in the Taiwan Strait. Taiwan will continue to cooperate with like-minded democratic partners to strengthen defense capabilities, supply chain resilience, and economic resilience, jointly safeguarding regional peace and prosperity.

In the joint statement, the G7 leaders emphasized the importance of a free and open Indo-Pacific based on the rule of law, and opposed any unilateral attempts to alter the status quo in the East China Sea, South China Sea, and Taiwan Strait through force or coercion. They stressed that such issues must be resolved peacefully through dialogue.

Presidential Office spokesperson Kuo Ya-hui stated that peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and the broader region represent the greatest consensus within the international community and are closely tied to shared global core interests. The Presidential Office sincerely appreciates the G7 leaders' concrete demonstration of support for peace, stability, and prosperity in the Taiwan Strait.

Kuo emphasized that Taiwan stands at the forefront of the democratic frontline and serves as a critical cornerstone for global supply chain security. As a responsible member of the regional and international community, Taiwan will continue to cooperate with like-minded democratic partners to strengthen defense capabilities, supply chain resilience, and economic resilience.
