Sergeant from Army's 302nd Brigade Injures Soldiers with Training Gun; Army: Referred to Legal Authorities

According to media reports, a sergeant from the Army's 302nd Infantry Brigade stationed at Chenggong Ridge in Taichung reportedly lost emotional control during a shooting practice session, brandishing a T91 electronic training rifle and chasing soldiers within the base, firing at personnel. The Tenth Army Corps Command issued a statement confirming that a corporal surnamed Zhang from the 302nd Infantry Brigade engaged in inappropriate conduct on the 15th, resulting in injuries to a soldier. Upon learning of the incident, the Corps Commander immediately dispatched officers to take the injured soldier to hospital for injury assessment, initiated an administrative investigation, and contacted the family to explain the incident and subsequent actions. On the morning of the 16th, the suspect was formally referred to the Taichung Military Police for legal investigation. The Army strongly denied media claims of 'high-level cover-up,' stating categorically that 'there was no cover-up whatsoever.'
