(CNA, Los Angeles, 16th –综合外电) The Recording Academy announced today that next year's Grammy Awards will introduce five new categories and redefine several rules, potentially impacting the highly anticipated Best New Artist award.

According to AFP, feedback from members has led to the addition of 'Best Asian Pop Music Performance,' 'Best R&B Collaboration Performance,' 'Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance,' 'Best Traditional Folk Album,' and 'Best Latin Song' at the 2027 awards ceremony.

The Recording Academy has also revised the nomination limit for the Best New Artist award, expanding it from a maximum of three submissions to four, giving emerging artists who have previously reached the limit another chance to compete.

Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, stated, 'The changes driven by our members reflect the expansive diversity of today’s music industry and the influence of various genres, crafts, and creators.'

He added, 'We look forward to seeing these updates implemented in the coming year and continuing the Grammys’ mission of honoring artists who push the boundaries of music.'
