Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) Chairman Cheng Kuang-yuan stated that in 2025, the TRA achieved record-high performance in daily passenger volume, ticket revenue, and subsidiary businesses such as the 'TRA bento' and merchandise sales from the Dream Factory, indicating that TRA's brand value is being re-recognized by society.
TRA recently conducted the second cohort of basic training for new railway personnel, with 162 new employees participating. Trainees came from various departments, including operations, engineering, mechanical, electrical, digital development, supply, ancillary business operations, and asset development.
In a press release issued today, TRA stated that Chairman Cheng expressed his hope that new employees would not only gain a job but join a supportive and responsible family, working together to improve 'safety and service' further.
Cheng said that in 2025, TRA achieved record highs in daily ridership, ticket revenue, sales of TRA bentos, and merchandise from the Dream Factory. Following its transition to a corporate structure, TRA employees have delivered outstanding results, and the organization's brand value is being re-recognized across Taiwanese society.
Cheng emphasized that TRA's management philosophy centers on 'safety, accuracy, and convenience,' with the core belief that 'happy employees lead to satisfied passengers.' He pledged to foster a dignified and joyful work environment, with safety as the sole primary focus.
Cheng highlighted TRA's 'Five Pearls'—core transportation, asset development, TRA bento, TRA Dream Factory, and TRA Holidays (including tourist trains)—which must all be connected through the central pillar of safety to ensure TRA's sustainable operation. (Edited by Huang Ming-hsi) 1150617
