(Tehran, 17th - CNA International Wire) The United States and Iran are scheduled to hold a ceremony in Switzerland to sign an agreement aimed at ending the Middle East war. Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today that it is considering a proposal for the agreement to be signed jointly by the presidents of both nations.
According to AFP, Esmaeil Baqaei, spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, stated: "So far, our plans for the Geneva meeting have not changed. Regarding the method of signing the memorandum of understanding, there is a proposal for both presidents to sign jointly, and this is currently under consideration."
Previously, Iranian authorities indicated that U.S. Vice President JD Vance and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf would serve as representatives for their respective countries.
As reported by Turkey's Anadolu Agency, Iran stated today that the idea of having Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Trump jointly sign the memorandum of understanding has been "put on the table."
IRNA reported that during a press briefing, Baqaei said: "This idea has been put on the table and remains within the scope of consideration."
