Private Skateboard and Surf Park in Chiayi County Begins Trial Operations, Boosting Tourism Development

A privately operated skateboard and surf park adjacent to TSMC’s advanced packaging facility in Chiayi County has recently commenced trial operations. The operator, expressing confidence in Chiayi’s development potential, has already launched the 'Mee Mee Shang Shu Pet Paradise' and the surf park, with plans to further construct 31 villas and a large hotel featuring 200 rooms, forming a fully integrated resort complex.

In collaboration with the Chiayi County Government, the park has launched the 'Chiayi FUN Summer: Dual Land and Water Experience' campaign. A press conference was held today to invite families across Taiwan to visit Chiayi County this summer and enjoy an exciting vacation.

Chiayi County Magistrate Weng Chang-liang attended the event and highlighted Kuang Yu International’s investment in Chiayi, underscoring the company’s confidence in the region. He noted that the 'Mee Mee Shang Shu Pet Paradise' opened in 2024, the surf park is now in trial operation, and future plans include 31 villas and a 200-room hotel, all contributing to a complete resort village.

Kuang Yu International Chairman Tzu Wei-hsin stated that the weather and humidity in Taibao, Chiayi, are ideal for water-based activities. The company has brought an island-style resort water park to Chiayi, enabling year-round enjoyment. The park’s artificial wave system ensures safe water flow for visitors.

The Chiayi County Department of Cultural Affairs and Tourism pointed out that the park is located just north of TSMC’s packaging plant and directly across the street from the National Palace Museum Southern Branch. It is only a five-minute drive from the Chiayi HSR Station. Additionally, a large outlet mall is under construction in the Chiayi HSR Special Zone, scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2028. In the near future, this area is expected to become a major tourist destination.
