Man with Scissors Attempts Robbery at Taishin Bank in New Taipei, Police Quickly Subdue and Arrest Suspect

According to CNA reporter Huang Hsu-sheng in New Taipei, on the morning of April 17, a man armed with scissors attempted to rob the Taishin Bank located on Guanqian East Road in Banqiao District, New Taipei City. Police responded immediately to the 110 emergency call, arrived on scene, and arrested the suspect surnamed Wang. No injuries were reported, and authorities are investigating the motive.

The Banqiao Police Precinct of the New Taipei City Police Department issued a press release stating that at 10:15 a.m., they received a report via the 110 emergency system about a robbery attempt at the Taishin Bank on Guanqian East Road in Banqiao District. Patrol officers from Houpou Police Station rushed to the scene and began handling the situation, while the station chief and head of the criminal investigation unit arrived to take command. Preliminary reports confirm that the suspect surnamed Wang has been arrested at the scene, and no one was injured. Further details will be investigated and clarified.
