(Central News Agency reporter Wu Jui-chi, Taoyuan, June 17) The 2026 Longtan Homecoming Cultural Festival will be held from June 19 to 21 around Longtan Pond, with the Mayor's Cup Dragon Boat Race and fireworks evening expected to attract tens of thousands of visitors. The Longtan Police Station today released traffic guidance and control measures, urging the public to plan their travel in advance and cooperate with on-site instructions.
The Taoyuan City Police Department's Longtan Branch issued a press release stating that existing police personnel, supported by auxiliary civilian staff, will carry out traffic control and guidance duties, with intensified management focused on roads surrounding the event venue. Specifically, Shenlong Road (from Longyuan Road to Nanlong Road intersection) and Longyuan Road (from Shenlong Road to Zhongfeng Road intersection) will be designated as pedestrian-only zones from 8:00 PM on June 18 to 10:00 PM on June 21, with vehicle access prohibited.
Additionally, the section of Zhongfeng Road from the intersection of Dachang Road and Donglong Road to in front of Lingyun Junior High School will be designated as a key traffic control zone, with measures including no U-turns, rerouting, and traffic signal adjustments to ensure smooth traffic flow and event safety.
Longtan Police Chief Shi Yu-feng urged the public to prioritize public transportation when attending the event. For those driving, roadside parking spaces along Xinlong Road and Zhongfeng Road, as well as paid parking lots on Longhua Road and Gongyuan Road, are available. Free parking spaces are also provided at Longtan High School, Lingyun Junior High School, and Lane 231, Zhongfeng Road. Police reminded drivers to avoid restricted times and areas, refrain from illegal parking, and properly secure personal belongings to jointly maintain traffic order and safety during the festival celebrations.
