(Taipei, July 17, reporter Hung Su-chin) The new drama 'On the Road to Fame' is set to premiere, with Li Mingyi playing the role of a senior police officer. After a long break from acting, she found the character intriguing and effortlessly switched from her usual vibrant hosting style to a stern commanding presence, saying, 'Hosting and acting are completely different. Maintaining a serious expression isn't difficult for me.'

Li Mingyi, who has rarely taken on acting roles in recent years, was personally invited by producer Tom Sheng-Yung Tang to return and portray the 'station chief.' Tang revealed in a press release that Li's image immediately came to mind when developing the character, and to his delight, she agreed without hesitation after a single phone call.

Reflecting on her return to the set, Li admitted it had been a while since her last performance but found the role of the station chief fascinating. Regarding the shift from her energetic hosting persona to a strict superior, she joked, 'Hosting and acting are two different things altogether. Keeping a serious face isn't hard for me at all.'

Today, key plot details of the drama were unveiled for the first time. Former idol group member Tsai Ken-yan sheds her celebrity image to marry into a wealthy family, only to face relentless bullying and abuse from her in-laws. In a shocking scene, she is violently assaulted by her husband, played by Huang Di-yang, who pins her to the ground and beats her mercilessly. Tsai shared that the drama feels like chasing a dream of light, but one that may not lead to the ideal destination.

'On the Road to Fame' will officially premiere on July 25. It will air every Saturday at 9:00 PM on Public Television, with episodes available on Netflix (Taiwan), Hami Video, and MyVideo at 10:00 PM. Every Sunday at 8:00 PM, it will also broadcast on EBC Drama Channel, guiding viewers through layers of deception to uncover the brutal truths beneath. (Editor: Li Heng-shan) 1150617
