U.S.-Iran War Key News
(Central News Agency, Evian-Bains, France, 17th - Comprehensive foreign media report) U.S. President Donald Trump said today that the memorandum of understanding reached with Iran is not a final agreement, and military action could resume if he is unsatisfied.
Trump warned today that he is prepared to resume military action if Tehran authorities fail to fulfill their obligations. The U.S. and Iran are scheduled to sign an agreement on the 19th in Switzerland to end the Middle East conflict.
Speaking at the Group of Seven (G7) summit in France about the upcoming agreement to be signed in Switzerland, Trump said, "No, this is not finalized. This is just a memorandum of understanding."
Sitting beside him, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Trump added: "If I'm not satisfied, we'll go back and fire on them, drop bombs on their heads. If I'm not satisfied, if they don't listen, we'll immediately go back and drop bombs precisely on their heads. Do you understand?"
Trump continued: "Because they haven't listened for 47 years." He was referring to the Islamic Republic regime established after the 1979 Islamic Revolution overthrew the U.S.-backed king.
The U.S. and Israel jointly launched an airstrike against Iran on February 28 this year, killing Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other high-ranking officials.
After signing the agreement in Switzerland on the 19th, the U.S. and Iran will begin 60 days of negotiations on the final agreement's content. (Translation: Liu Shuqin) 1150617
