Taichung Movie Fun-In Season Kicks Off June 26 with Free Screenings of 21 Animated Films

(Taichung, June 17, reporter Hao Xueqing) The '2026 Taichung Movie Fun-In Season' will kick off on June 26. Today, Taichung City's Department of Information announced that during the event period, 21 animated films including 'Crayon Shin-chan' and 'How to Train Your Dragon' will be screened for free across all 29 administrative districts of the city.

The Taichung City Department of Information held a promotional press conference today for the '2026 Taichung Movie Fun-In Season'. Department Director Luan Zhiyi announced at the event that the festival will tour all 29 districts of Taichung from June 26 to August 29, offering free screenings of 21 popular animated films such as 'Crayon Shin-chan' and 'How to Train Your Dragon'.

Director Luan stated that this year's event features diverse programming, with members of the 'Leopard Cat Family' appearing at both the opening and closing events to interact with fans of all ages. Generous prizes will be offered at every screening, including raffles for 32-inch LCD TVs and movie theater tickets. Outdoor venues will additionally offer raffles for 40-inch LCD TVs and free popcorn.

Luan added that the opening event on June 26 at Fengyuan Yangming Municipal Building and the closing event on August 29 at Nantun Yuanman Outdoor Theater will feature even more premium prizes, including 70-inch LCD TVs, Nintendo Switch 2 consoles, wireless projectors, and tablet computers. Families are encouraged to join, relax, enjoy the animations, and take home exciting prizes.

The Department of Information also noted that in addition to the rich prize offerings at each screening, special thanks go to sponsors including the Vitamilk Foundation, Wei-Dan Biotech, Wei-Dan Cultural & Educational Foundation, and Lianhua Foods, which will provide snacks such as Vitamilk S, Vitamilk P, Xiaolv Spirulina Scallion Crackers, and Mantianxing Cookies to share joyful moments with the audience.
