According to reports from Central News Agency (CNA) by journalist Lin Chang-shun, Taipei, June 17 — A man surnamed Hsu, acting through an educational association, was responsible for providing after-school learning and exploratory activities for elementary school students in a district of New Taipei City. Between December 2024 and February 2025, Hsu allegedly molested several young male students by touching their thighs, genitals, and buttocks during freshman camping trips, while riding the metro, and during meals at convenience stores.

On May 20 of the previous year, police searched Hsu’s residence in Taoyuan City and seized his mobile phone and computer. Digital forensic analysis of the seized devices revealed that Hsu had secretly recorded sexual videos of boys exposing their lower bodies while using the toilet or showering.

The Taiwan High Court sentenced Hsu to an aggregate term of 5 years and 6 months in prison for violations of the Child and Youth Sexual Exploitation Prevention Act and related charges. On June 11, the Supreme Court rejected Hsu’s appeal, finalizing the conviction.

This case highlights serious concerns regarding the safety and supervision of external personnel involved in children’s extracurricular programs. It has prompted calls for stricter vetting and monitoring procedures for individuals working with minors in educational settings.
