Affected by southwest monsoon winds, short-duration intense rainfall is likely. Residents in Penghu, areas south of Chiayi, and mountainous regions north of Yunlin should remain alert for localized heavy downpours today.
Areas under heavy rainfall alerts include mountainous regions of New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Hsinchu County, Miaoli County, Taichung City, Nantou County, and Yunlin County; as well as Chiayi City, Chiayi County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Pingtung County, the Hengchun Peninsula, and Penghu County. Caution is advised against lightning strikes and strong gusts. Low-lying areas should watch for flooding, and mountainous regions should be vigilant against landslides, falling rocks, and sudden river surges. (Editor: Li Heng-shan) 1150616
