Far EasTone Telecommunications announced today a landmark collaboration with Mediacorp, Singapore's largest media group, to co-produce the fantasy romance series 'Love, Alien'. Additionally, Far EasTone is strengthening its entertainment content strategy through its subsidiary Misan International and the Farglory Cultural & Entertainment Fund, a joint venture with the Taiwan Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) and the National Development Fund.
Produced by Misan International, a Far EasTone subsidiary, and co-created with Mediacorp, 'Love, Alien' is a fantasy romance drama. The production held its official groundbreaking ceremony on the 15th at Far EasTone's Neihu headquarters in Taipei.
Mediacorp and Misan International signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2023. As Singapore's largest media conglomerate and the nation's sole free-to-air broadcaster, Mediacorp operates six television channels and eleven radio stations.
Commenting on this first co-production, Chu Cheng-en, Senior Vice President of Far EasTone's Consumer and Home Telecom & Entertainment Services, stated in a press release: 'friDay Video has a solid foundation, and we are actively advancing cross-border collaborations. Partnering with Mediacorp marks a significant milestone in Far EasTone's video content strategy. We will continue to enhance content diversity and develop locally produced entertainment with global competitiveness.'
Far EasTone also revealed that through the Farglory Cultural & Entertainment Fund, it is co-producing the second season of the large-scale travel variety show 'WHAT A TRIP' with Mediacorp and Taiwan-based production company Grey Fish Pictures. Following the success of Season 1 in New Zealand, Season 2 is currently being filmed in Spain. Leveraging Misan International and the Farglory fund, Far EasTone is deepening its multi-faceted entertainment portfolio.
