(Central News Agency reporter Tseng Jen-kai, Taipei, June 16) The Taiwan Stock Exchange announced today that Chung Fu has restated and supplemented the filing of its 2025 annual and 2026 first-quarter financial reports on June 15. After review, the grounds for changing trading methods and halting trading have been corrected, and there are no other circumstances warranting such measures. Chung Fu's listed securities will resume normal trading from June 18.
The long-established textile manufacturer Chung Fu has faced repeated difficulties in producing financial statements due to an ongoing battle for control. In late April, the exchange announced that Chung Fu had filed its 2025 annual financial report, but regulatory authorities required the company to engage its auditors for a re-audit and re-filing within a specified period. As Chung Fu failed to meet the deadline, the exchange announced on April 29 that trading of its listed securities would be suspended.
At the time, Chung Fu explained that the delay stemmed from its inability to obtain the 2025 financial statements from Fu Hsing Company, a subsidiary accounted for under the equity method. The subsidiary is primarily controlled by the original management team, and despite multiple requests, Chung Fu could not obtain the board-approved and auditor-verified financial statements. As a result, Chung Fu's auditors lacked sufficient and appropriate audit evidence to assess investment gains or losses related to Fu Hsing, leading to a qualified audit opinion. Consequently, Chung Fu could not complete and re-file its financial reports on time, triggering the exchange's trading suspension mechanism.
With the completion of the supplementary filing, trading of Chung Fu's listed securities will resume on June 18. (Editor: Chang Liang-chih) 1150616
