US-Iran War Key News
Central Message
(Taipei, Washington, 16th - CNA, compiled from international news) A senior US official revealed today that under the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) reached between the United States and Iran to end hostilities, Washington will allow Tehran to immediately begin selling oil and fuel.
According to Reuters, citing an informed official, sanctions relief on Iranian oil sales will take effect after the US and Iran sign the agreement later this week. The clause also covers banking, transportation, and insurance services to facilitate oil sales.
The official stated that the agreement comes with conditions, calling it "a results-based agreement."
"Iran will only receive any benefits under the MOU if it complies with all agreed terms, including not possessing nuclear weapons, destroying enriched uranium materials, and not interfering with freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz," the official said. (Translation: Hung Chi-yuan) 1150617
