Zhushan Bamboo Art Lantern Festival Wins Silver at London Design Awards

TAICHUNG, Taiwan — The Zhushan Township Office has won a Silver Award at the London Design Awards with its 'Zhushan Bamboo Art Lantern Festival' on its first participation. The office announced today that the festival, which combines bamboo weaving, bamboo structures, and light art to create a contemporary aesthetic, invites visitors to explore Zhushan and experience the unique charm of bamboo art interwoven with light and shadow.

In addition to the 'Nantou Lantern Festival' hosted by Nantou County Government during the Lunar New Year, the 'Zhushan Bamboo Art Lantern Festival' has gained recognition for highlighting the town's unique characteristics. In a press release issued today, the Zhushan Township Office stated that the festival's overall curation—rooted in traditional craftsmanship, innovative design, and sustainability principles—earned it a Silver Award at this year's London Design Awards (London Design Awards), bringing global attention to Zhushan.

According to the township office, the lantern festival centers on 'bamboo' as its core element, with collaborative creations by local bamboo artisans and design teams. By integrating bamboo weaving, bamboo construction, light art, and environmental spatial design, the festival offers an experience that harmonizes cultural heritage with contemporary aesthetics.
