(Taipei, June 16, 2023) The CSBC Steel Heroes won 6-1 against the CTBC Brothers today, thanks to a quality start by pitcher Wang Wei-Chung, who allowed only 1 run in 6 innings. There was a small incident in the bottom of the 3rd inning when Magic Eagle (Steven Moya) was ejected for protesting the strike zone after being called out on strikes.

The game started an hour late due to rain and finally began at 7:35 PM. In the bottom of the 3rd inning, the Steel Heroes had a rally. Liu Shi-Hao drew a walk, Chu Meng hit a double, and the team scored its first run. They then added more runs with a hit-by-pitch, a double by Tseng Tzu-Yu, and a timely hit by Chi Ching-Yen that drove in 2 more runs.

In the bottom of the 3rd inning with one out, Magic Eagle (Steven Moya) was called out on strikes against CTBC Brothers' starting pitcher Wu Li-Chen. He protested the strike zone to the home plate umpire and was ejected from the game.

In the bottom of the 5th inning, the Steel Heroes had another rally. Wang Bo-Xuan drew a walk, Tseng Tzu-Yu hit a single, and Chi Ching-Yen hit a ground ball that caused a fielding error by the Brothers, allowing the Steel Heroes to score their 5th run. With one out, they added an insurance run with a sacrifice fly.

Wang Wei-Chung, who had not started a first-team game since April 26, made his return to the first team today. He pitched 6 innings, allowing only 2 hits, striking out 5, walking 3, and giving up 1 run. He earned his second win of the season and was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the game.
