(Central News Agency reporter Cheng Wei-chen, Changhua, June 16) To improve water supply stability and resilience in southern Changhua, Taiwan Water Corporation is carrying out connection work between old and new pipelines for the Phase I project of the Zhangnan Reservoir. A 23-hour water shutdown is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. on June 24 to 8:00 a.m. on June 25, affecting approximately 98,959 households. Residents are advised to store water in advance.

The 11th Management Division of Taiwan Water Corporation announced today that the shutdown and pipeline connection work will take place from 9:00 a.m. on June 24 to 8:00 a.m. on June 25. Partial areas including Xiushui Township, Erlin Township, Pitou Township, and Zhutang Township will experience a full water shutdown, affecting about 15,535 households.

Areas experiencing reduced water pressure include the entire regions of Xihu Township and Puyan Township, as well as parts of Fuxing, Xiushui, Yongjing, Tianwei, Beidou, Pitou, Xizhou, Tianzhong, Erlin, Fangyuan, and Dacheng Townships, affecting approximately 83,424 households.

The 11th Division stated that maximum manpower and resources will be deployed to ensure water supply is restored on schedule. To protect residents' water access rights, 22 temporary water distribution stations will be set up. Affected users are urged to store water in advance. During the shutdown, residents should turn off the power to water pumps to prevent motor damage from dry running. After water restoration, water pressure at pipeline endpoints, high-rise buildings, and elevated areas may take time to return to normal.
