The United States and Iran have recently announced a memorandum of understanding to end the Middle East conflict, and U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the next phase of negotiations with Iran will be 'easier' than the initial round that led to the memorandum.
According to CNN, Trump made the remarks during a sideline meeting with the Emir of Qatar at the G7 summit in France, saying, 'We are entering the second phase of talks, and I believe this will actually be easier.'
Officials indicated that the next phase will involve technical negotiations on Iran's nuclear program, financial relief measures for Tehran, and details regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump emphasized that the United States 'will not put any money into Iran,' aiming to allay concerns among some allies about the possibility of direct U.S. financial aid to Tehran.
Officials explained that the $300 billion (approximately NT$9.45 trillion) Iran reconstruction fund will be financed by Gulf states.
The UK's Financial Times recently reported that if Tehran accepts a final peace plan including a nuclear agreement, the Trump administration is prepared to allow the establishment of a $300 billion Iran investment fund.
