(Central News Agency, Evian-les-Bains, June 16) U.S. President Donald Trump said today, 'Russia should reach an agreement' to end the war against Ukraine.

According to AFP, Trump also stated that he 'met' with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the Group of Seven (G7) summit held at the French spa resort of Evian-les-Bains, and plans to hold further talks later.

Currently, G7 member countries are attempting to increase pressure on Russia to end the conflict that has lasted over four years.

Trump pointed out that both sides have suffered heavy casualties, calling the cost 'absurd,' and said he would 'do everything I can.'

Zelenskyy said yesterday that he had proposed to Trump the possibility of arranging a meeting between himself and Russian President Vladimir Putin in the United States. He argued that this would make it 'harder for Putin to refuse' compared to previous proposals for negotiations within the G7 framework. (Translation: Yang Chaoyen) 1150616
