According to Central News Agency (CNA), a single-vehicle accident occurred near Taipei Arena today. A 70-year-old man surnamed Hsiao is suspected of losing control of his vehicle due to sudden physical discomfort, resulting in the front-left portion of his car crashing into an electrical distribution box located on a median strip. The collision caused a temporary power outage affecting nearby residents, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The Songshan District Police Station of the Taipei City Police Department received a report at 10:47 a.m. today regarding a traffic accident on Section 4 of Nanjing East Road and immediately dispatched officers to the scene.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Mr. Hsiao was driving westbound on Section 4 of Nanjing East Road when he likely experienced a medical episode, leading to loss of vehicle control. The front-left side of the car struck the electrical box, damaging both the vehicle and the infrastructure, and disrupting power supply to the vicinity.

Police have preliminarily ruled out alcohol or drug influence in the incident. The vehicle sustained front-left damage, and the electrical box was dented and damaged, causing the outage.
