Affected by southwest winds and strong development of afternoon convective cloud systems, short-duration heavy rainfall is likely. Residents in Keelung, Greater Taipei, areas south of Chiayi, and mountainous regions from Taoyuan to Yunlin should remain alert for localized heavy downpours.
Areas under heavy rain warnings include Keelung City, the North Coast, Taipei City, New Taipei City, mountainous areas of Taoyuan City, Hsinchu County, Miaoli County, Taichung City, Nantou County, Yunlin County, as well as Chiayi City, Chiayi County, Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Pingtung County, and the Hengchun Peninsula.
The Weather Administration warns of potential lightning strikes and strong gusts. Low-lying areas should guard against flooding, while mountainous regions should remain vigilant against landslides, falling rocks, and sudden river surges. (Edited by Chang Ya-ching) 1150616
