Central News (Central News Reporter Chen Zhizhong, Taipei, June 16th) The summer vacation for elementary and junior high schools is approaching. The Shin Yi Foundation has selected four internationally acclaimed animations to be screened from July to August. Through viewing and post-viewing interactions, children are encouraged to understand emotions, recognize themselves, build critical thinking, and gain the courage to face challenges. Today, the Shin Yi Foundation released a press statement. Operating Director Liao Ruwen pointed out that AI (artificial intelligence) and short videos have rapidly changed the way children interact with images. How to cultivate children's observational, critical thinking, and sensory abilities in the vast amount of information has become a common concern for contemporary parents and educators. Since 2008, Shin Yi has established the 'Shin Yi Children's Animation Award' to promote children's image education. In recent years, through summer parent-child themed screenings, high-quality animations are not only showcased at film festivals but are also brought into homes and schools to accompany children's growth. This summer, Shin Yi has selected four internationally acclaimed animation works with artistic and educational value under the theme of 'Being Brave to Be Yourself.' In 'Where Did the Socks Go?', the protagonist bravely ventures into the unknown to find the missing socks, learning to face fear. 'The Little Tiger Without Stripes' thinks about self-identity and learns to appreciate its uniqueness; 'The Little Boat That Dreamed of Flying' depicts the journey of pursuing dreams, encountering difficulties without easily giving up; 'Let's Go, Little Train!' uses a growth story to help children understand that making mistakes is not scary. In addition to animation viewing, each event also arranges professional instructors to lead post-viewing interactions and discussions, guiding children to share feelings, express thoughts, and learn to listen to different perspectives based on the stories.
