The 'Google Hatch Program' has entered its third year, providing up to $350,000 (approximately NT$11.03 million) in Google Cloud service credits, technical assistance from Google AI experts, and access to resources from over 20 industry, government, academic, and research institutions. This support helps startup teams overcome technical and cost barriers, transforming artificial intelligence (AI) technologies into commercial products, while also assisting them in connecting with overseas capital and international clients.

Yu Chung-Ning, Head of Startup Business for Greater China at Google Cloud, stated in an official blog post today that since launching the 'Google Hatch Program' in 2021, Google has consistently worked to aggregate resources from industry, government, academia, and research sectors, aiming to build a more robust and supportive startup ecosystem in Taiwan.

Yu noted that Taiwanese startups possess strong technical capabilities and industrial innovation potential. With additional technical, business, and international support during critical growth stages, they stand a better chance of gaining visibility in global markets—this, he said, is a key reason why Google continues to advance the Hatch Program.

Yu observed that in the process of turning AI concepts into commercial products, startup teams often face dual challenges of technology and cost. From computational burdens and architecture design in the early development stages to the pressures of scaling later on, each phase can become a significant hurdle in their growth journey.

To support AI startups, Google offers up to $350,000 in Google Cloud service credits through the Google Cloud AI program, aiming to alleviate budget pressures related to model training and agent-based AI development. Google also aims to help startups promote brand internationalization and connect with international venture capital and multinational clients through its 'Overseas Scaling实战 Course' and advertising optimization expertise.

Yu emphasized that as a partner in Taiwan's startup ecosystem, Google will continue to bring world-class resources, perspectives, and opportunities to Taiwan, supporting local startup teams in finding clear paths to market in the AI wave and stepping onto the global stage. (Edited by Pan Yi-Ching)
