(Central News Agency reporter Tsai Meng-yu, Kaohsiung, June 15) Due to rainfall in Kaohsiung, the City Government's Public Works Bureau New Projects Division announced today that the lifting operation for the Qiaocheng Lake steel pedestrian bridge, originally scheduled for tomorrow, will be postponed to 9 PM on June 23. Songyi Road will be fully closed during the construction period, and traffic control measures will be implemented.

The New Projects Division of the City Government's Public Works Bureau issued a press release today stating that the lifting operation for the steel pedestrian bridge spanning Qiaocheng Lake across Songyi Road to Guoling Park, originally scheduled for June 16, will be postponed to 9 PM on June 23 until 6 AM on June 24 due to continuous rainfall. The operation will be further postponed if it rains on the scheduled night.

The New Projects Division stated that traffic control personnel will be stationed at the intersections of Yuan Shan Road and Songyi Road, as well as Ba De South Road and Songyi Road, to fully restrict vehicle access to Songyi Road during construction. Road users are advised to take detours in advance.

To divert traffic from the Songyi Road section, residents and vehicles from the northern Renwu District are advised to take Wenqian Road to Huanhu Road or Renyong Road to Renci Road. Residents and vehicles from the southern Niaosong District should take Yuanshan Road to Chengqing Road or Golf Course Road to Dachang Road to ensure the safe execution of the lifting operation.

The New Projects Division explained that Songyi Road is a major arterial road connecting Sanmin, Niaosong, and Renwu districts with heavy daily traffic. To minimize inconvenience to commuters, the night-time construction method was adopted to reduce impact on daily travel. (Edited by Li Shu-hua) 1150615
