(Central News Agency, Evian-les-Bains, June 15 —综合 international news) Following the announcement by the United States and Iran of an agreement to end the Middle East war, French President Emmanuel Macron said today that the France-UK joint military mission established to assist in restoring navigation through the Strait of Hormuz is now ready for deployment.
According to AFP, the United States and Iran announced they have reached a consensus on a ceasefire framework, with a preliminary agreement scheduled to be signed on the 19th, followed by negotiations within two months to finalize a 'final agreement'.
Macron will later today chair the Group of Seven (G7) summit and host U.S. President Trump.
Macron posted on social media platform X: 'Restoring maritime navigation without any restrictions or tolls is an essential priority for regional stability and the global economy.'
