(Central News Agency, Los Angeles, June 15 —综合 foreign media report) Edwards Air Force Base in the United States announced today on social media that a B-52 Stratofortress bomber crashed in California.

According to Agence France-Presse, Edwards Air Force Base stated on Facebook: 'At 11:20 a.m., a U.S. Air Force B-52 Stratofortress bomber crashed shortly after takeoff from Edwards Airfield.' The base is located approximately 95 kilometers north of Los Angeles.

'Emergency responders immediately arrived on scene, and the situation is still being managed.'

No immediate details regarding casualties have been released, and the base spokesperson declined to provide further information.

Aerial footage shows a large area of scorched ground.

Little aircraft debris is visible at the site. Journalists aboard a news helicopter reported seeing 'a massive column of black smoke rising into the sky' immediately after the crash. Multiple emergency vehicles were seen near the burned area.

The B-52 is a long-range bomber that has been in service since the 1950s, with a combat range of up to 8,800 miles, and is capable of carrying nuclear weapons.
