A senior US government official announced today that President Trump, Vice President Vance, and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf have signed an electronic memorandum of understanding to end the Middle East war.
According to AFP, the official, who requested anonymity, told reporters in a phone call: 'The President wanted to personally sign this agreement to demonstrate his commitment to bringing this matter to a successful conclusion.'
The official also stated that, under the peace agreement, the United States has not yet released any of the frozen Iranian funds, and rejected Iranian reports claiming Washington would immediately lift partial asset freezes.
When asked how much Iranian funding had been unfrozen, the official responded during a media conference call: 'Zero.'
He said: 'The facts are very simple. Neither the United States nor any other country has released any frozen assets. The amount is zero dollars.' (Compiled by: Chen Yuting) 1150616
