(Taipei, Central News Agency reporter Yeh Su-ping, June 15) DPP spokesperson Wu Cheng today stated that the Legislative Yuan has delayed the review of this year's total budget for over 290 days. The KMT and TPP have extended the session, fully utilizing the 'longest legislative session in history' as a protective shield, while employing tactics such as person-specific legislative amendments, delaying the national budget, and blocking or boycotting personnel nominations to obstruct national development, impact economic livelihoods, and undermine democratic rule of law. The Blue-White alliance, prioritizing their own interests, is harming the public.

In a press release, Wu emphasized that this year's total budget, submitted to the Legislative Yuan last August, remains unreviewed after more than 290 days. KMT and TPP committee convener members have maliciously delayed proceedings. Under their jurisdiction, six committees and 19 agencies await budget reviews. Reports indicate KMT legislator Weng Hsiao-ling proposed eliminating the Ministry of Culture's media promotion budget of NT$473.8 million and 60% of the Bureau of Audiovisual and Music Industry Development's budget—aimed at silencing Taiwan at a time when its cultural diplomacy has achieved international success, undermining Taiwan's global visibility.

Wu stressed that during this session, the Blue-White coalition again extended the session, setting a new record for the 'longest legislative session in history.' However, instead of reviewing the budget, they are pushing controversial bills. In early January, they passed the 'Yen Kuan-heng Clause'; last week, they forced through the 'Ko Hung-an Clause,' with the 'Chou Tien-lun Clause' and 'Ko Wen-je Clause' reportedly next. Moreover, KMT legislator Yeh Yuan-chih proposed three legislative amendments to revive 'double-salary fat cats,' demonstrating repeated instances of person-specific, malicious legal revisions to benefit specific individuals.

Wu pointed out that Blue-White has also continuously delayed personnel nominations, including those for Grand Justices, the NCC, the Prosecutor General, Examination Yuan, Central Election Commission, and Public Television Service board members—all previously blocked, boycotted, or vetoed by the opposition. For the latest Control Yuan nominations, Blue-White has again threatened resistance.

Wu stated that the Blue-White coalition intends to obstruct government operations and normal national development through three brutal tactics: person-specific legal amendments, delaying the national budget, and blocking personnel nominations. These actions will severely impact the economy and people's livelihoods, harming the entire population. (Edited by Su Chih-tsung) 1150615
