Taichung Mayor Lu Shiow-yen returned home today after completing a 10-day visit to three European countries. She stated that the trip was very smooth and successful, emphasizing that 'the most important thing is being able to go abroad and meet the people you want to see.'

From June 6 to 15, Lu led a delegation to visit Germany, the Czech Republic, and Austria. Arriving back in Taiwan via an EVA Air flight, she told reporters at Taoyuan International Airport that Taiwan's international situation is extremely difficult. She expressed hope that each overseas visit could help open new paths for the nation. She was pleased with the European reception, noting that the delegation was seen as sincere, warmly welcomed, and engaged in deep exchanges. Overall, the trip was smooth and successful.

When asked whether her March visit to the U.S. and this June trip to Europe signal a 2028 presidential bid, Lu stressed, 'The more international friends we have, the better.' She said each trip—including to the U.S. in March, and previously to Japan or Singapore—is aimed at expanding Taiwan's network of global friendships.

Lu reiterated, 'The most important thing is being able to go out and meet the people we want to meet.' She confirmed that all targeted meetings during the visit were successfully achieved, making the trip largely successful. (Editor: Li Shu-hua) 1150615
