Chiang Yi-chen Joins Li Sichuan's Campaign Team; Li: 'We Will Win This Election Together'

(Central News Agency reporter Wang Hung-kuo, New Taipei, June 15) KMT New Taipei City councilor Chiang Yi-chen recently announced she would not seek re-election. Today, she was appointed director of the campaign office for KMT New Taipei mayoral candidate Li Sichuan. Li Sichuan expressed gratitude for her involvement. The campaign office of Su Tsao-hui responded by stating that each candidate has their own pace, and they respect and offer blessings.

The Xinzhuang Dizang Temple recently held its annual 'Birthday Celebration Procession of the Civil and Martial大众Lords,' a well-known religious event in the Xinzhuang area. Both the Blue (KMT) and Green (DPP) camps have fully mobilized. DPP New Taipei mayoral candidate Su Tsao-hui said she also participated in the 'Xinzhuang Great Worship' for three consecutive days last year.

She stated that this year, she has participated in the 'night inspection' and 'daytime procession' for two consecutive days and plans to attend the birthday celebration and group worship tomorrow. She sincerely prays for peace and harmony in the community and hopes more people will recognize Xinzhuang's unique temple culture.

Regarding the announcement of Chiang Yi-chen's appointment as campaign director and the list of three spokespersons, Su's campaign spokesperson Wu Szu-hsuan said, 'Different candidate teams have different rhythms. We respect and bless them.' Su Tsao-hui's team announced its spokesperson list two months ago and introduced four major youth policy proposals at the end of April, aiming to support young people in settling and rooting in New Taipei from the perspective and language of the younger generation.

Li Sichuan attended the '1,000 Autumns Birthday Peace Blessing Banquet' at Xinzhuang Dizang Temple tonight and was warmly welcomed by local residents. In a media interview, he expressed gratitude to Chiang Yi-chen for joining the campaign, saying, 'The most important thing for a city is experience succession and talent cultivation. I thank her for joining the team. I will fight this election side by side with them and win.'

Li Sichuan said he has long served in Taipei County and New Taipei City and deeply feels the inseparable emotional bond between local temples and communities. The Xinzhuang Great Worship is not only an annual event in Xinzhuang but also a highly representative folk activity in northern Taiwan and an important cultural asset of New Taipei City.

He expressed joy at witnessing this local religious event together with local believers and residents. The Xinzhuang Great Worship carries generations of collective memories. If elected mayor, he will not only promote local development and urban construction but also work with the public to preserve and pass on precious religious and historical culture.
