Zhongshan Pop-Up Zone: Taipei Metro Invites Passengers to Experience Pokémon GO Global Fest

(Taipei, June 15, CNA reporter Yang Shu-min) Taipei Metro announced today that, in celebration of Pokémon GO's 10th anniversary, the 'Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global' event is launching. In collaboration with Pokémon GO, Taipei Metro has created a Pokémon-themed zone in Zhongshan, inviting passengers to experience it starting immediately.

Taipei Metro released a press statement detailing how the Zhongshan Linear Park has been transformed into a Pokémon-themed space, encouraging passengers to participate in the 'Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global' festivities.

The warm-up event will be held from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on June 28. Participants who complete challenges at Taipei Arena Plaza will receive gifts.

Following this, the main event 'Gather, Trainers!' will take place from July 11 to 12, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, officially launching the 'Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Global' at the MRT Zhongshan Linear Park. Attendees can receive Pikachu or Eevee-themed hats, and by completing in-zone missions, earn hand fans, postcards, or stickers. A photo zone featuring Mewtwo as the centerpiece will also be set up on-site.

Additionally, starting July 11, the 'Pokémon SUPERCARD-designed EasyCard – Mewtwo' will be officially released at three Taipei Metro Gift Shop locations—Zhongshan, Zhongxiao Fuxing, and Nanjing Fuxing—and on the official Taipei Metro online store. Priced at NT$250 per set, the card is available for fans to collect.
