(Central News Agency reporter Chang Chien-chung, Taipei, 15th) U.S. President Trump announced the completion of a peace agreement with Iran, prompting Taiwan's stock market to open and close higher today. The market closed at 45,396.99 points, up 1,227.95 points, with a trading value of NT$1.063992 trillion. Foreign investors recorded a net buy of NT$46.532 billion, with the top 10 net buys dominated by ETFs.

Driven by strong performances from major electronics stocks such as TSMC and MediaTek, as well as financial, plastic, glass, and cable stocks, Taiwan's stock market showed bullish momentum today, decisively reclaiming the 45,000-point level and closing above all moving averages.

All three major institutional investors bought today: foreign and mainland Chinese investors bought a net NT$46.532 billion, proprietary traders bought NT$12.523 billion, and investment trusts bought NT$4.895 billion. The three institutions combined for a total net buy of NT$63.95 billion.

According to data from the Taiwan Stock Exchange, foreign investors bought the most shares in Yuanta Taiwan Upgraded 50 (00403A), totaling 292,644 lots. Other top 10 net buys included Yuanta Taiwan Growth (00981A), Mega Taiwan Top 50 2x Bull (00631L), Yuanta Mega AI New Economy (00990A), and Fubon Future 50 (00991A), all ETFs.

Other stocks bought by foreign investors included KGI Fund, EVA Airways, CTBC Financial, Yuanta Financial, and China Airlines.

Foreign investor net sells included Powerchip Semiconductor, Capital Securities Taiwan High Dividend Select (00919), United Microelectronics, Yang Ming, Lite-On Technology, Walsin Technology, Powertech Technology, AU Optronics, Zhitop, and Nanya Plastics.

Huang Kuo-wei, Deputy General Manager at Mega International Investment Trust, stated that the U.S.-Iran peace agreement positively boosted stock markets in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan today. He noted that the Bank of Japan and the U.S. Federal Reserve will hold interest rate decision meetings this week, with their monetary policies being a key market focus.
