With the Dragon Boat Festival holiday approaching, a significant influx of tourists is expected at Daxi Old Street and surrounding scenic areas in Taoyuan City. In response, the Daxi Police Substation of the Taoyuan City Police Department has announced a comprehensive traffic management plan to alleviate congestion.

During the holiday period, the southbound ramp of National Highway No. 3's Daxi Interchange will not enforce high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) restrictions. However, enhanced traffic controls will be implemented in the old town area. Notably, Heping Old Street will be designated as a pedestrian-only zone daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to ensure visitor safety.

Traffic regulations will also be enforced around Kangzhuang Road, the five-way intersection of Heping Road, and Desheng Road. Left turns from Puzhi Road onto Desheng Road will be prohibited. Depending on real-time traffic flow, temporary one-way systems and分流measures will be flexibly implemented around the roundabout and Bridgehead Parking Lot.

Due to limited parking capacity in the old town, authorities recommend visitors park at Yueh-Mei Parking Lot or Daxi Bridgehead Parking Lot and walk to the old street, which is the most efficient access method. If congestion occurs near the old street, vehicles will be redirected to the Bridgehead Parking Lot, with real-time road condition updates provided via electronic message boards and traffic apps.

Traffic guidance will also be strengthened along Provincial Highway No. 7 in Fuxing District. Vehicles heading downhill toward Hsinchu are advised to take County Road 118 (Luoma Highway), while those heading toward Taipei can use Provincial Highway No. 7乙 to connect to National Highway No. 3.

To encourage public transportation use, special incentive measures will be implemented from June 18 to 21. Daxi Police Chief Hsu Chang-je urged the public to check traffic conditions via the 1968 app, police broadcast hotline, or live traffic cameras before departure. He also reminded drivers to follow on-site police instructions for safe passage.
