U.S.-Iran War Key News
(Jerusalem, Central News Agency, 15th - international wire reports) Itamar Ben Gvir, Israel's far-right National Security Minister, strongly criticized today's announcement of a U.S.-Iran agreement aimed at ending the Middle East war, including the conflict in Lebanon, and insisted that Israel is not bound by the agreement.
According to AFP, Ben Gvir wrote on the messaging app Telegram: "Trump's deal has no binding power over us... We are not signatories to this agreement. It cannot guarantee our security." This marks the first official response from an Israeli official regarding the deal.
Ben Gvir emphasized: "Our goal must be nothing less than the dismantling of Hezbollah. We must not withdraw from a single inch of territory seized by our soldiers and cleared of terrorist infrastructure."
The United States and Iran announced yesterday a preliminary agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and establish a 60-day window for negotiations on Iran's nuclear program, paving the way for a final agreement. This brings an end to nearly four months of conflict that has caused global political and economic turmoil. (Translation: Liu Shuqin) 1150615
