(Taipei, April 14, Central News Agency reporter Li Chien-chung) At the LPGA Dow Championship, Taiwan's top golfer Hsu Wei-ling and her German partner Aline Krauter carded 3 birdies and 4 bogeys for a 1-over 71 in the third round, bringing their 3-day total to 2-under 208, currently tied for 24th place.

The Dow Championship, launched in 2019, is one of the few team events on the LPGA Tour. This year's total prize purse is $3.3 million (approximately NT$104 million), held in Michigan, USA.

The tournament features two-player teams. The first and third rounds are played in foursomes (alternate shot), while the second and fourth rounds use four-ball format (best ball).

Taiwanese players have historically performed well in this event: in 2023, Hou Yu-sang and Chien Pei-yun finished 9th; in 2024, Cheng Ssu-chia partnered with Hsu Wei-ling to place 8th; last year, Lin Tzu-han and her partner Jodi Ewart Shadoff tied for 18th.

This year, four Taiwanese players are competing: Hsu Wei-ling, Chien Pei-yun, Cheng Ssu-chia, and Yani Tseng. Except for Tseng and Cheng, who form a Taiwanese duo, Hsu and Chien are paired with international players.

After the first two rounds, only Hsu and her German partner Aline Krauter advanced to the weekend. Unfortunately, on the pivotal 'moving day' third round, they managed only a 71.

Prior to this event, Hsu has played 11 LPGA tournaments this season, making the cut in 8, with her best result being a T28 at the April Los Angeles Championship.

After three rounds, the South Korean duo Choi Hye-jin and Kim Hyo-joo lead alone at 10-under 200, one stroke ahead of the chasing pack. (Editor: Li Shu-hua) 1150614
