(Taipei, June 14 - Reporter Wang Pao-erh) Singer David Huang's sister announced today through legal counsel that Huang passed away recently at the age of 61. Huang was widely known for classic songs such as 'I'm Drunk Because of You' and 'Let Everyone's Heart Break,' and in recent years made his acting debut in the drama series 'The Outsider Doctor'.
The Han Ying De Li Law Firm released a statement, entrusted by David Huang's sisters, Consulina Wong and Joann Wong, to officially confirm that David Huang passed away suddenly on the morning of June 2, 2026, Hawaii time (June 3, Taipei time), at his sister's home in Hawaii, USA. He was 61 years old.
The statement noted that Huang had ended his life in Taiwan on December 27, 2025, returning to Hawaii with his sister. In the final month of his life, he remained full of anticipation to launch a new musical journey.
Born in Hong Kong in 1964, Huang grew up in Hawaii. His musical journey began when a university professor gifted him a guitar, sparking self-taught exploration in performance and composition. He started forming bands and was later discovered by Taiwanese producer Li Shou-chuan, who brought him to Taiwan to develop his career. His debut Mandarin album, 'Let Everyone's Heart Break,' was an instant success.
Huang won the Golden Melody Award for Best Arrangement with 'Autumn 1944' and was nominated last year for the Golden Bell Award's Most Promising Newcomer in a Drama Series for his acting debut in 'The Outsider Doctor'.
In the family's statement, they expressed that for decades, David Huang enriched countless lives through his extraordinary musical talent, boundless passion, and unique ability to connect people across the world.
