According to CNA reporter Yang Ssu-jui, Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che led a delegation to South Korea to promote agricultural specialty products, hosting a pop-up sales event for Tainan produce at a subway station in Seoul. The city government released a press statement today, stating that the pop-up event showcased Tainan's high-quality agricultural and specialty food products to Korean consumers through joint product exhibitions, tasting sessions, traditional cultural experience activities, and social media marketing with local Korean distributors.

Mayor Huang, speaking at the event, emphasized that South Korea has long been one of Tainan's key export markets for agricultural products. In recent years, premium fruits such as pineapples and mangoes have gained popularity among Korean consumers. By choosing a high-traffic, centrally located subway station in Seoul's bustling commercial district, the event aimed to engage directly with consumers and raise awareness of the superior quality and delicious flavors of Tainan's agricultural products.

Mayor Huang also extended an invitation to Korean citizens to visit Tainan, experience its ancient capital culture, culinary delights, and premium agricultural goods firsthand, and enjoy the city's unique cultural charm and warm hospitality. He expressed hopes that such initiatives would deepen exchanges and friendship between Taiwan and South Korea.

The Tainan City Government noted that Mayor Huang also visited the Seoul Chamber of Commerce, which represents thousands of local business districts. The collaboration with the Chamber was instrumental in securing the subway station venue, marking a significant step in promoting the Tainan brand in the Korean market.

Tainan is not only a major agricultural city in Taiwan but also boasts a complete food processing industry chain and a wide range of distinctive local products. The city government continues to support local businesses in expanding overseas through international food exhibitions, overseas promotional events, and channel partnerships, aiming to bring high-quality agricultural and processed food products to the global market.
