Fire Breaks Out on 1st Floor of Residential Building in Xiangshan District, Hsinchu City; 2 Rescued from 3rd and 4th Floors

According to reports from Central News Agency, a fire broke out on the first floor of a residential building located at Section 4, Zhonghua Road, Xiangshan District, Hsinchu City, this afternoon. Emergency services received reports of flames and thick smoke, with uncertainty about whether anyone was trapped, and immediately dispatched firefighting units to the scene.

The building is a four-story residential structure, with the fire originating on the first floor. Firefighters deployed hoses and entered the premises to extinguish the fire. Search and rescue teams conducted floor-by-floor operations and successfully rescued two women from the third floor and the rooftop area of the fourth floor. Both victims were conscious and had no visible external injuries. One exhibited symptoms of shortness of breath and dizziness and was transported to a hospital for further treatment.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the fire involved an electric motorcycle on the first floor and stored杂物 in the basement. The burned area covered approximately 20 square meters. Authorities have not yet determined the exact cause of the fire and are continuing their investigation.
