(Central News Agency reporter Hsieh Chun-lin, Taipei, April 14) In collaboration with the '2026 New Taipei Good Tea' spring tea market event, the Taipei District Prosecutors Office held anti-bribery and anti-fraud awareness campaigns today at the Pinglin Tea Museum in New Taipei City. With local public official elections approaching in November, the prosecutors urged citizens to bravely report any illegal acts that interfere with elections.
In the morning, the Taipei District Prosecutors Office conducted anti-bribery and anti-fraud outreach at the '2026 New Taipei Good Tea Festival,' explaining to the public over tea that a democratic society is built upon clean elections. They also introduced common fraud tactics to enhance public awareness and defense capabilities.
In a press release, the prosecutors stated that the event featured interactive activities such as an 'Anti-Bribery Monopoly' game and anti-fraud informational leaflets. Through close engagement with the public, adults and children alike learned about illegal practices—including cash vote-buying, election betting, overseas travel inducements, AI-generated deepfake misinformation, and foreign interference in elections—in a fun and engaging way. Leveraging popular puns, the campaign urged the public: 'Not bribing is truly wise voting,' calling for collective protection of fair elections and democratic institutions.
With the November local public official elections approaching, the prosecutors emphasized their commitment to investigating all reported cases and acting on any evidence found, aiming to eradicate illegal activities. They reminded the public that vote-buying and vote-selling are not only illegal but also undermine social fairness and local development. The office urged citizens to courageously report any suspicious election interference. Reports can be made via the dedicated hotline 0800-024-099, then pressing 4. A fair and clean election requires everyone’s participation. (Editor: Chang Ya-ching) 1150614
