A Wang surnamed man from Hualien County set out on foot from Hsincheng Township to Guangfu Township for work after his motorcycle was confiscated. After walking over 40 kilometers and becoming severely fatigued, he approached Fenglin Police Substation voluntarily, requesting assistance. Police officers, upon verifying his identity, discovered he was wanted by Hualien District Court for a public danger offense and immediately arrested him.
The 57-year-old man, wanted in connection with a public danger case, had recently secured a job in Guangfu Township to make a living. On the morning of the 3rd, he left his home in Hsincheng without a mobile phone, intending to walk the entire distance. After reportedly walking approximately 40 kilometers, he collapsed from exhaustion.
Fenglin Police Substation reported that when Chief Pan Guan-Yu of Ruixi Outpost and officers were transporting a suspect to the station, they noticed the man wandering outside the station with an unusual demeanor. Upon seeing police, he approached and requested help. Officers conducted an identity check, and the system confirmed he was a fugitive wanted by the court. He was immediately arrested and transferred to Hualien District Court.
Fenglin Police emphasized their ongoing commitment to apprehending fugitives and urged the public to face legal proceedings responsibly. They warned against evading justice, as doing so could lead to further legal complications. (Edited by Huang Ming-Hsi)
