Hsu had delivered a quality start in the top league on the 8th, going 6 innings and allowing 2 runs against the Yokohama DeNA BayStars, before being sent down to the farm team the next day. Today, he entered the game as a reliever in the 7th inning and successfully held the Hanshin Tigers' farm squad scoreless over 3 innings, preserving his team's 8-2 lead.

In the 7th inning, Hsu retired the side in order with 2 strikeouts.
