(Taipai, Penghu County, 14th) — The '2026 PENGHU OCEANMAN International Swim Across Penghu Bay' concluded today, with Australia's Thomas Gilbert and Taiwan's Hsu Ya-chiao emerging as champions in the men's and women's divisions of the 10km International Category and 5km Swim Category, respectively.
In the 10km International and 5km Swim categories, Australia's Thomas Gilbert (Thomas Gilbert) claimed victory with times of 2 hours 30 minutes 01 second and 54 minutes 44 seconds. Taiwan's Hsu Ya-chiao triumphed in the women's division with times of 2 hours 54 minutes 03 seconds and 1 hour 05 minutes 05 seconds.
In the 2km Challenge Category, Taiwan's Cheng Yuan-chao and Yeh Li-yu won the men's and women's titles with times of 30 minutes and 33 minutes 06 seconds, respectively.
The Penghu County Government stated that this year's 'Swim Across Penghu Bay' successfully connected with the international elite stage, becoming an official stop on the OCEANMAN World Championship tour. Top performers will qualify to compete in the OCEANMAN World Championships in the Dominican Republic this November.
Supporting sports equity, the Penghu County Government invited participants including the 'Ah Wei Adaptive Sports' team, para-swimmer Chang Wei-chieh, 'Penghu Sea Prince' Lin Yu-su, and visually impaired triathlete Lee Hsieh-hsing. Lee successfully completed the 10km swim, securing a qualification spot in the para-division for the World Championships. Chang and Lin earned qualification in the 5km category.
