(CNA Seoul, 14th – comprehensive international news) North Korea declared today that the issue of denuclearization has been "irreversibly concluded," while strongly criticizing recent nuclear deterrence consultations between the United States and South Korea.

According to a statement from a Foreign Ministry spokesperson cited by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), "the hollow rhetoric by the United States and its subordinate forces toward the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), along with their cooperation on nuclear threats against the DPRK, will never shake our country's irreversible status as a nuclear-armed state."

The statement further asserted, "the issue of denuclearization has already been irreversibly brought to a close."

Last week, U.S. and South Korean officials convened in Seoul for a meeting of the 'Nuclear Consultative Group' (NCG) to discuss enhanced responses to North Korea's ongoing expansion of its weapons programs and to strengthen nuclear deterrence and readiness posture. (Translation: Shih Shih) 1150614
