(CNA, Washington, 11th –综合 international news agencies) Sources today told Reuters that the U.S. military shot down several Iranian one-way attack drones en route to the Strait of Hormuz, as military tensions between the U.S. and Iran escalate despite both Washington and Tehran claiming progress in peace negotiations.
The unnamed source said the drones posed a threat to commercial shipping.
According to AFP, U.S. Central Command posted on social media platform X: "Iran launched multiple one-way attack drones attempting to strike merchant vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz."
U.S. Central Command emphasized that the Strait of Hormuz remains "open for navigation."
